Dozens of people turned out Saturday to get information on available resources for seniors at the 2014 Golden Years Expo and Senior Health Fair at the Hyatt Regency in Valencia.

The purpose of the event was to provide resources to a population that can sometimes be under-served, said Gary Buterbaugh, owner of High Impact Event Resources, an event management company.

“These people have needs, whether it’s a need for knowledge or a need for opportunity, we wanted to put something together to show them what’s available,” Buterbaugh said.

Buterbaugh said the event was meant to provide information not only to seniors, but those who are approaching that age or those who provide care to seniors.

The event included exhibitions and seminars offering information on a variety of topics, including health resources and financial planning.

Officials from Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital were also on hand to provide health screenings for attendees.

The Golden Years Expo and Senior Health Fair was presented by Henry Mayo and sponsored by Facey Medical Group, Santa Clarita Valley Family YMCA, Signal Multimedia, the Magazine of Santa Clarita, KHTS AM1220, Santa Clarita Gazette and Free Classifieds and 25 Score.
