Local 11-year-old Kinsley White was chosen as a finalist for the JC Penny/Izod Aftershcool Awards. If she wins, she’ll walk away with a $5,000 scholarship.

Kinsley is a competitive snowboarder, shredding on Mammoth Mountain's snowboard team. She is currently a three-time U.S. National Half-Pipe Girl Champion.

Kinsley has been snowboarding since she was 3 years old and has loved every second of it. She hopes to someday compete in the X Games and maybe even represent the U.S. in the Olympics.

In order to win the scholarship, she has to accumulate the most votes. Vote for Kinsley at afterschoolawards.com.

Editor’s note: Voting can tricky on the website. Voters must choose one person in all 4 finalist categories. To vote, click on a finalist and hit the “vote” button at the top of the screen. If the platform requests an email address, enter it and submit. Viewers can vote every day until August 10.
