Former COC trustee elected to L.A. position

Ernest H. Moreno, a former member of the College of the Canyons Board of Trustees, won an easy victory Tuesday in a race for the Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees.

Moreno, who has served as president of East Los Angeles College and Los Angeles Mission College, earned 71 percent of the vote, according to unofficial election results released Wednesday.

Moreno was first elected to the COC board in 1989.
