A woman was temporarily trapped in her car after a traffic collision in Valencia earlier today, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
Lt. John Rush of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said the crash occurred when a car ran a red light and crashed into the side of another vehicle at the intersection of Magic Mountain Parkway and Town Center Drive around noon.
The passenger in the vehicle that was struck was temporarily trapped in the car and deputies had to use the “jaws of life” to free the woman, Rush said.
The woman complained of pain while at the scene so she was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for observation, Rush said.
No one else was injured in the collision.
