High winds expected tonight

With breezy conditions expected to blow into town tonight, the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas.

The advisory is active beginning at 10 p.m. and will last until 1 p.m. Sunday. During this time period, winds are expected to range from 25 to 40 mph with occasional gusts up to 55 mph.

At that speed, winds can down small tree branches and can make driving difficult, especially for larger vehicles, according to the National Weather Service.
