A burglar spotted running from a Castaic house with a laptop in his hands prompted sheriff’s deputies to scour an area near Parker Road and The Old Road Thursday afternoon, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Shortly before 2 p.m., deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a young man seen running from a house on Church Road, west of The Old Road and north of Parker Road, said Lt. John Rush.

“We’re out looking for him,” he said at 2:15 p.m.

Deputies were told to look for a man wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a bandana.

The suspect was last seen running eastbound toward The Old Road.
