Investigators with the Los Angeles County Coroners Department have identified the man found with his throat slit inside a Valencia business’s bathroom Thursday as a 41-year-old Hispanic man, a Department spokesman said Sunday.

“His body is still at Henry Mayo (Newhall) Hospital,” said Department spokesman Lt. Fred Corral. “He is a 41-year-old Hispanic male.”

Investigators have not released the victim’s identity because they are still trying to get in touch with his next of kin, he said.

On Thursday, around 11:30 a.m. morning, a man was found with his throat slit inside the bathroom of a business in the 24900 block of Avenue Kearny in the Valencia Industrial Center on a report of a man found dead, Lt. Rob Hahnlein said Thursday.

The victim was taken to Henry Mayo, but he was pronounced dead there, the lieutenant said.

“At first it appeared this was a suicide but now we’re thinking maybe there’s something more to this,” Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Homicide Bureau told The Signal Thursday afternoon.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene on reports of a man stabbed to death, he said, and a Coroner’s Department spokesman said investigators from that department were also notified.

At 4 p.m. Thursday a homicide detective, clipboard in hand, was seen emerging through the front doors of a business at the location called Exclusive Coatings.

An employee of Exclusive Coatings found the body, according to Corina, who added that detectives were planning to interview the company’s workers.

The investigation is continuing.

What?! It's always good to keep an open mind when doing criminal investigations, but you might want to hold off on any type of determination on the manner of death until you know what you're looking at. Even an amateur knows that.

This will need more clairfication from LASO. We need to know if there is a murderer on the loose out there or not.

41 YO Hispanic male? The coroner just described the entire Southwest United States.

The victim's name is Antonio H. Will hold off on last name until LASD makes it public.
