Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley has received a $15,000 grant from the Blue Shield of California Foundation to support the center’s services and shelter for abuse survivors, city officials announced.

Linda Davies, executive director of the Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley, said in a press release the grant will allow the center to respond to new demands and opportunities and continue its work helping victims of domestic abuse.

"Blue Shield of California Foundation is an amazing partner supporting our mission to create healthy relationships through intervention, prevention, and education to end the cycle of violence," Davies said. "Blue Shield of California Foundation has made a huge difference in California effecting positive change in the lives of women, children and men who have experienced intimate partner violence."

The grant is part of a group of awards presented by the foundation to various Southern California domestic violence services providers, Blue Shield Foundation officials said in the press release.
