A man who threatened some workers in Canyon Country with a screwdriver Thursday was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a brief hunt by deputies.

Workers, possibly from a Southern California Edison truck parked near the Santa Clara River bed, reported the man approached and threatened them with a screwdriver then fled.

Deputies set up a “loose containment” area around the Santa Clara River bed, where the suspect eventually “popped up” and was arrested at Sandy Road and Rock Drive shortly before 4:30 p.m., sheriff’s Lt. Rob Hahnlein said.

Although deputies drew their weapons on the suspect, no shots, officials said.

No injuries were reported, Hahnlein said.

Hahah, hahah, hahah, hahah! "Throw out the screwdriver! Put your hands on your head and slowly walk backwards, toward me". You don't have a pair of pliers hidden anywhere...it'll go easier if you yell me about it now." Hahahahah!

It is unlawful to divulge the contents of an intercepted two way radio communication to third parties. You can listen, but you can't repeat.

Why did the Edison guys call the cops? Calling the cops on someone is almost like swearing out a death warrant, these days. They could have rolled up the windows and used the P.A. to mess with the guy. Don't involve trigger happy police, especially the Sheriff (who likes to shoot first, identify later).

@Ricketzz, can you cite the law? I couldn't find anything in regards to that. Thanks! --edited.
