A two-vehicle crash led to a search in the Santa Clara River wash for a male driver who fled the scene of the collision in Newhall Sunday night, a lieutenant with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said.

The crash happened at Railroad Avenue and Oakridge Drive at about 9:05 p.m., said Lt. Tom Bryski.

“One guy who was involved in the crash ran,” he said.

Bryski estimated that four units were looking for the suspect and said air support had been requested to aid in the search.

Deputies were still searching for the suspect as of 9:55 p.m. Sunday, Bryski said.

The condition of occupants in the second vehicle was not known.

Sad? So, he was breaking the law by not having a drivers license, so he may as well break another one by fleeing the scene? I'm not sure I would use sad to describe it. Luckily no one got hurt.

Is this another hit and run story? There was an arrest mentioned in the paper.
