A Stevenson Ranch woman accused of striking and fatally injuring a motorcyclist in August has pleaded no contest to one felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, according to a spokeswoman with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

Stevenson Ranch resident Suzette Lorine Crockett entered the plea and will be sentenced Aug, 26, District Attorney’s spokeswoman Shiara Dávila-Morales said Friday.

Motorcyclist Johnny Sanchez Jr., 58, of Lake View Terrace was seriously injured when his motorcycle was hit by Crockett’s 1987 Toyota Matrix Aug. 11 on The Old Road near Sagecrest Circle. He later died of his injuries.

According to reports, Crockett was driving northbound on The Old Road and made a left turn onto Sagecrest directly in front of the oncoming motorcycle.

Sanchez was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and died on Aug. 21.
