Motorcyclist injured in SCV collision

A motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital Monday afternoon following a collision with a Santa Clarita city truck, according to emergency response crews.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday, paramedics responded to the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Bouquet Canyon Road for reports of a traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a truck, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

“We got the call as a vehicle versus motorcyclist,” she said.

The injured motorcyclist identified himself to one witness as “Steve” and as 36 years old.

Aurion McPherson was at a gas station at the intersection when she saw the motorcyclist lying on the ground after the collision, she said.

“I said, ‘What hurts?’ and he said, ‘My foot,’ and he said his ankle was hurting a lot,” she said. “His eyes were starting to close but he was conscious. I was telling him to stay still, then the paramedics arrived.”

The man was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

The driver of the city maintenance truck was not injured.
