A 28-year-old Valencia man has been arrested in connection with an alleged road rage incident Saturday in which a woman suffered a serious injury to her eye, a spokesman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said.

At 7:53 a.m. Monday, detectives arrested at a location in the 28100 block of McBean Parkway Cory Allen Flenory on suspicion of mayhem, said Deputy Josh Dubin.

During the arrest, deputies used pepper spray to detain the suspect after he allegedly “kicked out” the window of a sheriff’s car, Dubin said.

Flenory, who according to Dubin was on parole at the time of the arrest, remains locked up in the jail at the local sheriff’s station with bail set at $100,000.

“The man who we believe is responsible for the incident has been arrested,” Dubin said.

“We received some information this morning to which deputies responded,” he said.

Detectives believe a BB gun was used in an apparent incident of road rage.

“There was a verbal altercation that happened in the Wal-mart parking lot,” Dubin said, referring to the store on The Old Road in Stevenson Ranch.

“As the victim pulled out of the parking lot onto the street an incident occurred as kind of a road rage or revenge for the verbal altercation,” he said.

“When we took him into custody, he kicked out the window of the radio car,” he said. “Deputies pepper-sprayed him.”

He is scheduled to appear in San Fernando Superior Court Wednesday.

A 22-year-old woman, meanwhile, is recovering from a serious eye injury after she was hit by an object which detectives now believe was a BB gun pellet, Dubin said.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday, paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of a passenger in a car who was hit in the eye, said Fire Department Inspector Scott Miller.

The incident happened on West Pico Canyon Road and The Old Road, near Coco’s Bakery Restaurant, Miller said.

The woman was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, he said.

Dubin said he learned the victim, a photographer, had been transferred to another hospital where she underwent emergency surgery to save her eye.

Dubin confirmed reports that surgeons at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center spent seven hours attending to the woman’s injury.

“We man who we believe is responsible for the incident has been arrested,” Dubin said
Was this the same "We man" that was in the Jackass movies????

Amazing that they can arrest this guy in 12 hours but the cop who fired the gun in the story above this one got a 7 month paid vacation before the Einsteins figured out if they should arrest him.

What a piece of poop.

Lot of ink on the suspect in question!

What kid of dbag gets his name tattooed on his back? Is that to help ID his body or something? That dude looks like a real loser.

EgbertSouse4U: Posted: May 19, 2014 2:57 p.m.

What a piece of garbage this guy is. Maybe someone in prison will pluck his eye out. Let's hope this creep never sees the light of day again.

obscured: Posted: May 19, 2014 5:30 p.m.

This guy has either his name or someones name very badly tattooed on his back. He's got the appearance of your typical cholo. I bet he's one of those dumbos that have their area code as a decal on their car or have a decal "in memory of blah blah blah" on his car window. He's your typical douche.....

I am going to be honest, one of the things that is most noticeable about this city is how aggressive the drivers are; almost on par with Glendale.

If you are not gunning it off the light like a drag racer be prepared for some serious tail-gating. Blinkers? No way in hell. 55 zone? Try 70.

I like the people I have met out here, but man the drivers are kind of jacked.

Oh the irony, one of his favorite books on his facebook is "Blood in My Eye". True story.

IamNewHere,"RIGHT ON"

The posters and readers of the SCV Signal will ridicule anyone that mentions that
Santa Clarita has a hazardous traffic problem.

All phases of the hazardous traffic problems in Santa Clarita has been the vain of my contention for years.

Rocketeer: Posted: May 20, 2014 12:38 a.m.

@IamNewHere & projalice11: I'd love to drive the speed limit. But the fact is the city has timed the lights such that if you accelerate reasonably and maintain the speed limit then you're guaranteed to miss every single light.

Oh, they deny it. But the fact is in my Camry I'm sitting at every light (almost 3 minutes for Soledad/Bouquet) whereas in the Corvette (if I drive like a freakin' lunatic) I can make every light and cut my drive time in half.

Time the lights better and people will slow down. It's as simple as that.

Vtown123: Posted: May 20, 2014 12:45 a.m.

I actually find going the speed limit or just under will get me most green lights. I always laugh at the people drag racing every time the light turns green...I just catch up to them as they are stopped at the next light, but by the time I get there, it's green. --edited.

ricketzz: Posted: May 20, 2014 6:58 a.m.

Vtown, it also works if you drive exactly twice the speed limit. (Not!) If I ever get a mid-life crisis sports car it'll be a flat black WRX.

I have noticed that people drive more like lunatics, the farther downhill and West I get. Valencia, Saugus, very aggressive; Canyon Country, Newhall, a little less. People in Acton seem very unstressed.

People are all walking time bombs, until proven otherwise. Do not interact with others if you can help it. Always yield.

Unreal: Posted: May 20, 2014 7:50 a.m.

You have to go 5 miles over the speed limit on Copper Hill to hit all green lights

17trillion: Posted: May 20, 2014 8:11 a.m.

"The posters and readers of the SCV Signal will ridicule anyone that mentions that Santa Clarita has a hazardous traffic problem."

You're right! Recently I noted that there are some that don't even know what "right lane must turn right" means.

Vtown123: Posted: May 20, 2014 9:10 a.m.

Those that don't like the signal timing, have you contacted the city about it? I did a couple years ago and had a positive response/outcome.

tpaul: Posted: May 20, 2014 10:58 a.m.

What happened to posting about the scumbag ? Ok , I'll do it, What a scumbag. Nice tat, more time to read books, enjoy. Was he going 5 over and timing the greens when he was firing away ? Stupid Wal-Mart shoppers.
Please take your grain of salt before reading my rant.-->

timothymyers02: Posted: May 20, 2014 11:12 a.m.

Does one have to be over 85 or is it 80 to complain about the red light timing?

philellis: Posted: May 20, 2014 1:26 p.m.

Tim, are you talking miles per hour?

Rocketeer: Posted: May 20, 2014 3:04 p.m.

Vtown, unless you asked the city to time the lights such that if you drive the speed limit you hit every red, then you did not have a "positive outcome."

When I contacted the city I got a sales pitch on their "state of the art centralized system," assurances that their simulation showed the lights already are timed correctly, and a mumbled promise to "look into it."

johnnyrock: Posted: May 20, 2014 3:37 p.m.

Ok peeps, tattoos has nothing to do with anything. I have tattoos and I don't go around shooting people in the eyes with bb guns. I don't have my own name tattooed on me........just my son's. I looked him up on facebook (i was bored) and he looks like a punk.

bbcalvin: Posted: May 21, 2014 8:35 a.m.

As vtown123 mentioned, when I am driving at the speed limit I make almost all the green lights. Those who go significantly faster are waiting at the red at the next signal and I catch up to them.
