Val Verde residents explore, add to treasures of the times

Val Verde resident Susanna Battin examines artifacts from a time capsule buried in 1939 as the cornerstone of the Val Verde swimming pool, which was unearthed in 1994.

 

Val Verde residents and other community members can explore artifacts on display from a time capsule buried in 1939 as the cornerstone of the Val Verde swimming pool, which was unearthed in 1994.

It's contents are now on display in the the Val Verde Park Community Room in Val Verde.

Members of the community are invited to bring letters, photos and small items to be included in the burying of a new time capsule to the Val Verde Park Community Room at 3 p.m. Monday.

Val Verde resident Susanna Battin plans to bring a record album, original composition sheet music and photographs of herself and friend.
