Local traffic investigators gathered evidence Tuesday at the scene of a traffic collision at Copper Hill Drive and Copperstone Drive that claimed the life of a Valencia man.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday, investigators with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station took measurements at the intersection where Dylan Zimmerman, 21, was fatally injured Feb. 14.

For their own safety, they shut down one lane of Copperstone and one lane of Copper Hill for a couple of hours while they took measurements.

“We’re here mapping the scene of the fatal,” said Traffic Investigator Deputy Jeff Maag. “This is part of our factual report,” he said. “It’s a factual diagram.”

Investigators with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, meanwhile, have concluded that Zimmerman died of traumatic injuries suffered in the crash, Lt. Fred Corral said Tuesday.
