The city of Santa Clarita will officially open the extended version of the Golden Valley Road Bike Trail during a ribbon-cutting ceremony next week.

The ceremony is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, at the northeast corner of Centre Pointe Parkway and Golden Valley Road.

The project will expand the trail by approximately four miles from River Village in Saugus to Highway 14, providing access to the Santa Clarita Sports Complex and businesses in the area.

Thats nice...maybe the sherrif can stop the teenagers from skatboarding or riding their scooters across the street directly out in front of th sports complex on the corner. Its another tragedy waiting to happen. No regard for the cars driving past toward Ruether...and this is usually around 6:00 at night in darknes...a bike trail will only encourage it..
