One man was hospitalized and another arrested Wednesday night after a fight at a Valencia residence led to a stabbing, local sheriff’s officials said.

The incident happened on Plaza Chiva in Valencia near Tournament Road, according to Sgt. Brian Allen of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The call had originally came over at 8:23 p.m. as a fight, but was upgraded to assault with a deadly weapon after “another caller said a person may have been stabbed,” Allen said.

Sheriff's Sgt. Jeff Curran confirmed that a male victim was found at the residence stabbed “multiple times” and a male suspect, who reportedly lives at the Valencia home, was arrested by deputies at gunpoint.

“Apparently the suspect and the victim know each other,” Curran said, indicating that a dispute between the two men turned violent.

The victim was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive, according to Curran.

“(The injury is) apparently non-life-threatening at this point,” he said.

Another Signal coverup of the names of the criminals? Whose side is this paper on?

Lucky for everyone nobody died. What is going on? Something in the water?

Parents need to be teaching their kids to turn the other cheek. Love your neighbor as yourself. Don't just say it, model it for them. Quit suing for everything. Quit being offended by everything and demanding justice. Agree to Disagree. I don't know how old these involved are but this is something lacking in all age groups these days.

Thinking too much of yourself is part of the issue. Stop trying to teach your kids how important they are and start teaching them to be humble.
In the long run their character and heart will say more about them than anything else.

Lately a lot of us have seen a certain football player pounding his chest while proclaiming in an interview that he is not only the best football player but "better at life" than an older man had been with his life. Having only run 24 years of his life so far, I would say he has a long way to go before claiming how successful at life he is. This type of arrogance is ugly to see. I say he is showing a lack of grace that makes him a loser not a winner no matter how many games or A's he gets. --edited.

I wouldn't be surprised if a woman and a lot of jealousy played a part in the incident. I've heard there are a lot of swingers trolling around town.

I thought swingers were lovers not fighters? But that does bring up the yuck

Not but 2 weeks ago someone was stabbed and killed over in the Diamond Park Apt complex off of Sierra Hwy. There's just something wrong with people today.

If the two men are minors, parents need to be held fully accountable for their childrens actions. This would include full reimbursement to the city for any services rendered due to their behavior. Obviously, parents are just too busy trying to be their kids friend rather than being a parent. Your "special bundle of joy" becoming the future car jacker of society shouldn't be our problem.

@ohhyaa: "I've heard there are a lot of swingers trolling around town." tell. Where did you "hear" this from? Was it "The Real Swinger Housewives of Santa Clarita" playing on local access TV somewhere? Just curious...

I think it is hard to draw a straight line from Richard Sherman to a couple of 20 somethings assaulting each other, probably over a woman. Also, unlike other posters I don't think this has NEVER occurred in the history of mankind before this present day.

By the way, Richard Sherman said he was "better at life" than Skip Bayless at ESPN. Objectively, EVERYONE in the world is better at life than Skip Bayless (except maybe Steven A Smith)!

timothymyers02: Yes things have happened through history going back to Cain and Able, but there does seem to be an increase in crass behavior. Look at the knock out game which is popular now.

I do not think that Sherman showed any class by putting another person down. There are some real class acts out there and he should try and learn from them if he really wants to be successful at life. Try to emulate someone in the limelight who shows class in his personal and public life like Will Smith or the few sports figures who know how to conduct themselves.

I have not seen anything about the ages of persons involved.

@boneshark. It's all about the behavior. Friends or mine and my husband's ( a married coiple) have been asked 3 times. Twice at outback and one time at Salt Creek. They are wild and crazy and drink and laugh when they are out. Real party animals. My hubby and I on the other hand are much better looking but subdued in comparison and we've never been asked once. lol.
