The California Department of Transportation announced Friday it will be closing the two middle lanes of the freeway in both directions between Van Nuys Boulevard and State Route 118 to demolish the median.

The No. 1 and No. 2 lanes in both directions will be closed Monday and continue through early February excluding Friday and Saturday nights from 8 p.m. through 6 a.m.

The Signal really needs to update this. They are not closing the 2 "Middle Lanes" at all, they are closing the #1 and #2 lanes in both directions. For those not familiar, the #1 lane is closest to the median or the left lane, and you increment up 1 number as you count the lanes from the median to the shoulder.

And it's the 118, not the 188 freeway. Regardless it's going to make for a nasty drive.
