Political nonsense

I quote a recent editorial contribution by a Santa Clarita City Council member: "Public participation is an essential way ... to influence the decision-making process."

Explain this contradiction to the majority who spoke at a City Council meeting and other venues against our city going at it alone regarding our public library.

The public majority was totally ignored, and many firmly believe it was a "done deal" — soliciting public input was merely a political charade.

Uh yeah. So was the commercial buildings at the hospital, emmenent domain proceedings and the entire old town newhall mess ($100+ million tax dollars to date) and certainly the new proposed roundabout will be put in as well.

Kellar and Boydston are the only ones that will listen. Ferry has seen support turn against him so he is out next year. You want the council to listen to you? Vote the two grandmothers Weste and McLean out of office next year. Vote in people that listen to citizens and not ones that can be bought off by special interests.

BB, you are wrong - you think that people only listen when they vote your way. Wrong, wrong, wrong! People listen when they vote my way.

When City Council ignored the public it was bye bye Laurie Ender and now Ferry sees the handwriting on the wall. Next up, Marsha McLean...

Vote your way and they get Old Town Newfail.

Now you're seeing it. They don't care about you. They only care for what they want and what will enrich their own lives. Our input, our say means nothing; you only feel supported if you speak what the politicians are already spewing but if you run contrary to them, you will be sorely disappointed in their lack of representation. Our representatives represent themselves and nothing else; maybe we can't expect anything more but then maybe we shouldn't have representatives.

OldReliable: Totally with you on this one! Loved seeing Ender kicked to the curb. That ugly mega-parking structure at Henry Mayo is now her memorial. Looking forward to more housecleaning in the future.

It looks like another parking structure is on the way.
