Mindlessly speeding ahead with the bullet train

It never fails to amaze me how many major projects are approved with little or no awareness of the actual impact of the project.

The proposed Palmdale-to-Burbank link of the bullet train traverses several known earthquake faults — and likely many unknown, unmapped faults.

The proposed route will negatively impact production at the Disney Ranch with noise and vibration. That expansion has recently been approved by the county supervisors to help keep an iconic California industry in state.

The route will not stop in the Santa Clarita Valley, so we have the problems of the bullet train with none of the benefits.
Voters did approved construction of the bullet train, but the cost has increased exponentially since that vote. That is called a material difference and should void the contract.

It amazes me that government, on all levels, pays little or no concern to those of us who actually pay for these fantasies!

There are no benefits to this boondoggle, except for public sector union workers that is.

The Bay Area has a fine subway under the Bay. Their seismic challenges equal or exceed ours. Air travel is destroying the livability of the planet. Every trip is time off the back end. (This planet's livability is diminished, the time remaining is shortened, by every barrel of oil, every mcf of natgas we pump.) Jet exhaust is deposited in the upper atmosphere immediately. The co2 ch4 don't have to rise 33,000 feet; we deposit exhaust and water vapor right where it does the most harm. Flying is a big elephant in the climate room. This mechanism (like methane hydrates) has not been figured into the models either. Things are more tenuous than you think.

I am sure that cricketszz has not spent any time with the land owners who are now losing their ranches and homes because of "police powers" acts now being enforced to gain "right of way" for this peace train's passage. How about giving up your land to relinquish your property for this ill planned project cricketszz ? It's easy to stand on principle when you have no skin in the game. Glad to see your know the chemical symbols for carbon dioxide and methane, now I feel better since we are getting sage advice from an educated man.
