City, take a stand against petition blockers

I know there are quite a few people in the SCV who can remember back to the ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s during the big strikes that some of the big companies had — and how violent they were.

When the strikes looked like they were going to last for a while, the companies would bring in armed thugs (strike breakers) to act and do exactly what these thugs at various markets around the SCV have been doing over the billboard petition drive.

I can’t believe that they actually admit that they are hired to disrupt the process of getting signatures for the issues destined for the ballots.

They have been at these various stores and actually blocking the shoppers from going into the stores and assaulting them and intimidating them.

I can only assume that these thugs have been hired by those defending the Santa Clarita City Council’s actions to carry out Metro’s wishes.

It only shows me that those involved are turning into very bad neighbors by having sunk so low as to hire these jerks to do their dirty work.

They are just sore losers.

I urge the city to take a stand against this type of behavior and all businesses that have these cockroaches hanging around outside their store to tell them to leave your property — and if they refuse, have them arrested for trespassing.

We citizens do not have to put up with these types of people when all we are trying to do is go shopping.

Do something before it really gets out of hand and someone gets seriously injured.

I believe the SCV is totally clueless as to the type of character they have engaged with the billboard deal.

These incidents should be a serious red flag.

There is a lot to gained here, and Boss Hogg will stop at nothing to get his way...goo goo goo.

City says billboard petition has enough signatures for county verification

Santa Clarita city officials declared that a minimum number of signatures were collected on petitions to overturn a City Council vote and sent the petitions to Los Angeles County to be verified.

Thank goodness we all hopefully get to vote on this now. So many folks don't vote or, even when they do vote, don't bother to really understand what and who they are voting for. It is sad that it takes a scandal to wake people up, and then they fall right back asleep. Zombies.
