The ‘Affordable’ Care Act is anything but

Since it has been in force, the Affordable Care Act has disrupted the system as we knew it.

Under the cloak of affordable, the changes, increase, premiums, etc., are now unaffordable. It hit the seniors (who can least afford it) with higher premiums and more out-of-pocket expenses while it decreases some coverage and adds some that seniors really do not need.

And now they are after the Medicare Advantage, which has been a lifesaver for seniors.

My monthly premiums doubled, out-of-pocket expenses increased by $2,500, and now they want to penalize some more.

I am not ready to go off and die so they can stay in budget.

Let the politicians get their own insurance; they make enough to be able to afford it. That would save and lower some of the deficit.

Stop victimizing those of us who made our country what is today.

How wise were these words of Thomas Jefferson: “A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have.”

Jefferson is like the Bible; if you look hard enough he will have a logical reason for anything.

Medical care is the largest federal expense going forward. It drives deficits. The government is already the largest insurer by far as we provide care to veterans and retirees. What is wrong with getting a handle on the prices?

Who objects to this? Not most Doctors. Not most insurers. Only brainwashed idiots who get their news from the television and the radio.

Just like "affordable housing", "affordable healthcare" is blowing up.

"What is wrong with getting a handle on the prices?"

Nothing. Which is exactly what Obamacare does on the issue. Instead, as the LTE writer noted, it's driving consumer costs up.

I had no idea how unaffordable my plan was before Obama came around. Now that I'm paying almost 5 thousand a year more than I was in 2012, I can see where the affordability comes into play.

I just wish the government would stop making things so affordable because I'm going broke trying to pay for the increases.

Affordable Care Act -what a joke. I lost my coverage plan through self employment, had to reapply, the premium went way up and the out of pocket doubled. But not to worry, I get free birth control and contraception and maternity visits, even if I am in my 60's. Thanks Obama for making a mess of things, and punishing me for being responsible for my own health care for the past 40 years. I paid, I was responsible, and now, I am being double charged. I will be eligible for Medicare in a year, although it will probably be gutted by that time. I've had enough government. They ruined my health care. And no, I can't get assistance (if you can even get the website to work) because I would rather pay more and get the gold plan. Joke what a joke, caused so much upheaval in my life when I can least affaord it.
