A driver and passenger pulled themselves from the wreckage of a vehicle that went over the side of San Francisquito Canyon Road on Saturday and overturned, officials said.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials said paramedics transported two people to a local hospital following the 12:35 p.m. incident that occurred about 1 mile south of the 33000 block of San Francisquito Canyon in Newhall, but authorities had no immediate information about possible injuries.

California Highway Patrol officers requested a tow truck with a 150-foot cable to retrieve the vehicle. The cause of the crash was being investigated, officials said.
