LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a woman has been arrested in connection with a shooting threat at Los Angeles Valley College that prompted a campus shutdown.

Sheriff's Deputy Guillermina Saldana says the woman was arrested late Thursday morning at her apartment in the Panorama City area of Los Angeles, about two hours after the threat was phoned in.

Saldana says the woman threatened to "shoot up the school."

Classes are canceled for the day at the campus in the San Fernando Valley.

The campus remains locked down.

It's unclear if the suspect has any connection to the school.

The college has about 20,000 students.
