The architect for the The New Home Company’s Villa Metro community on Soledad Canyon Road across from the Metrolink station has won a merit award for the Best Community Site Plan.

Robert Hidey Architects, now celebrating its 51st year, picked up two Grand Awards and two Merit Awards on June 26 at the Pacific Coast Builders conference in San Francisco.

Villa Metro was designed as a transit-related suburban neighborhood with urban-inspired characteristics including space for a community garden, European-style village blocks of homes, and 22 live-work lofts.

Robert Hidey Architects is a member of The New Home Company’s’ project team.

“By combining tradition with innovation, our team comes up with design solutions for residences that live well and become the landmarks of their communities,” said Robert Hidey, president of Robert Hidey Architects in Irvine.
