Canyon Country West Crime Report: Woman assaulted near gym

This past week in Zone 7, the following Part-1 Crimes occurred:

(1) Aggravated Assault, (3) Residential Burglaries, (2) Shoplift, (1) Grand Theft and (1) Petty Theft.

An aggravated assault occurred in the parking lot at 18645 Via Princessa (24 Hour Fitness). The suspect approached the victim as he was walking out of the gym and they engaged in an argument. The argument became physical and the suspect retrieved a weapon and hit the victim in the face with it. The suspect fled the scene and was arrested by responding deputies shortly after the incident.

Two residential burglaries occurred near the 26800 block of Claudette Street. A garage burglary occurred when an unknown suspect pried open the pedestrian door to the garage and took costume jewelry. A second burglary occurred when an unknown suspect pried open the front door to the residence and took several electronics and miscellaneous jewelry.

A third residential burglary occurred near the 18800 block of Cronus Court. An unknown suspect removed the digital lock to the residence and upon entering took two miscellaneous kitchen items.
A male suspect entered a location near the 18800 block of Soledad Canyon Road and rode out of the store on a bicycle. An employee chased after the suspect who eventually lost control of the bicycle, dropped it and fled out of view. The case is currently under investigation.

A female suspect was arrested for petty theft/shoplifting near the 18600 block of Via Princessa. The suspect walked out of the location after failing to pay for several items. The suspect was detained by loss prevention and was subsequently arrested by responding deputies.
