Understandably, Santa Clarita Christian has no history when it comes to achievements in the pool.

This is the first season the Cardinals have fielded a team, and it consists of just two swimmers.

After Wednesday’s CIF-Southern Section Division IV prelims, though, the history books at SCCS might be about to receive their first chapter.

Freshman Victoria Kirshner was the top qualifier in the 100-yard backstroke Wednesday at the Riverside Aquatic Center with a time of 58.56 seconds.

Farah Stack of Malibu was second in 1 minute, .70 seconds.

Kirshner also swam in the 100-yard freestyle where she enters Friday’s finals as the second seed after swimming in 53.11 seconds.

Olivia Hynes of Grace Brethren High was first in 52.75 seconds.
