The first playoff experience for Albert Einstein Academy girls basketball was quick and straight forward.

The young start-up team at Einstein lost 59-25 to Silver Valley High of Yermo on Thursday night at Cesar Chavez High in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division VAA playoffs.

It was Einstein’s first playoff game in school history and it concluded just the second varsity season for the team.

Sophomore Ana Sukloska led Einstein (7-8) with 12 points, most of which were scored after halftime.

Silver Valley (18-4) led 30-5 at the break.

Einstein is a team of just nine players, one of which is a senior and one is junior.

The team finished second in the Omega League this season.

Silver Valley finished third in the Desert Mountain League.
