Six locals named to Cal-Hi All-State Football Teams

Apsay, Irwin among those named

Cal-Hi Sports revealed its 35th annual All-State Football Teams on Monday, and six locals made the cut.

Canyon High quarterback Cade Apsay, Hart quarterback Brady White, Hart players Trent Irwin, Davis Koppenhaver and Garrett Updegraft were also named, as was Valencia’s Jay Jay Wilson.

The Foothill League Player of the Year Cade Apsay (3,103 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, 65-percent completion percentage) was named to the Third-Team Offense for seniors.

Koppenhaver (84 catches, 976 yards, five TDs) was also named to the Third-Team Offense for seniors as a tight end and his teammate Updegraft (147 tackles) was selected as a third-teamer on defense.

Irwin (76 catches, 1,456 yards, 19 TDs) was All-State First Team for juniors.

White (4,535 yards, 41 TDs) was a second-teamer for juniors.

Wilson (54 catches, 738 yards, 11 total TDs, four interceptions) was a second-teamer all-purpose for juniors.
