What I'd really like to see the Signal do is report local news. For some reason they quit doing that.

I liked it better when the Signal only reported local news. I could have went anyplace to see the news they now report. I am not a big fan of the Signal since this new guy stepped in to run it. I have even cancelled my paper subscription.

I think the Signal should run more polls and report local news like that.

Hey Joe, how much news is not local in today's Signal? Oh, that's right, you cancelled your subscription so how would you know? Where did you went?

The Signal can't get facts straight for news. Who gives a politician's a$$ about their political views? Readers would likely vote opposite of Signal recommendations.

Elmer, Perception is Reality. No two people see things exactly the same. Perhaps your perception of facts are tainted by your personal opinion. By voting against, even you may benefit from other opinions?

"Fireworks in the bathroom of a Canyon Country apartment sent one person to the hospital with burns and prompted the evacuation of the apartment complex Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
An explosion reportedly felt and heard by some tenants about 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, sent emergency units scrambling to the Mountain View Apartments on Scherzinger Lane, east of Sierra Highway and north of Soledad Canyon Road, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Quvondo Johnson.
The complex was immediately evacuated, he said.
Specially-trained firefighters with the department’s Hazardous Materials unit were called out in response to reports of an unknown chemical.
“Initially, we got the call that it was a meth lab, but it turns out it was fireworks that went off,” said Lt. Bill Weiss of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Investigators with the Arson & Explosives Squad of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were called to the scene, he said.
“One individual received some burns and he remains at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital,” he said.
Johnson said there was no fire at the scene.
“Our report does show that it was not a meth lab,” he told The Signal.

Same writer recently wrote: a "deputy pulled her service revolver" (they carry 9mm auto pistols), freeways accident occurred in the "curb-lane", and referred to burglary suspects as "robbers". Lets not forget the classic "rattlesnake eggs" article (they give birth to live youngins). The Signal does not have a working "fact checker".

Media – due to their own agendas – should stay out of endorsing anything or anybody. They can’t even report the news in a fair manner so why do we think they would endorse that way? Plus I can tell TMS has not studied nor analyzed the issues thoroughly as shown in their take on a couple of the ballot measures…and unfortunately a lot (maybe MOST) people are too lazy to do it themselves so take what the “news” media says as the golden truth… how sad!

I think what you have said is your opinion, of which you have a right. The reporters you refer to above could probably have used other more general words (like weapon instead of revolver) and have been categorized as more factual. Should the media not report that there was a terriorst attack until they find out exactly who the terriorsts were, confirm the type of weapons used, exactly the number of people killed? Using your logic, anyone could pick apart any news report as innacurate. My opinion is we read between the lines and get from it what we will. If we know more than the writers, maybe we tell them and they offer a correction rather than bad-mouthing them to oblivion.
