This takeover of our library system by a private corporation is nothing more than business as usual in the City of Bell. The City Council receives "campaign contributions" from the corporation, and in return, they destroy a fine library system with a privately run system managed by an out of state corporation, staffed by minimum wage employees. All done with the flimsy excuse that it will "save money." We need an investigation of our crooked City Council which is selling Santa Clarita down the river. This is the same scam as"privatizing" the prisons. Just another racket to pick the taxpayers pockets. Watch for the fines for overdue books to be calculated the same way the credit card companies charge interest. And if you don't pay the overdue book charge - they trash your credit report.
