‘Play Dates’ is funny stuff

You know you've done it. At least once in your life, and hopefully only in early grade school, you slipped someone of romantic interest one of those notes with a heart on it that read, "Will you be my girlfriend (or boyfriend)?" and had two check boxes, one for "Yes" and one for "No." And if your intended filled in her or his own box with "Maybe," well, it was just maddening.

YOUth Sports Festival

This year's annual Celebrating YOUth Sports Festival will be held tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex at 20870 Centre Pointe Parkway, Saugus, CA 91350. The free festival is designed to bring the community together to raise awareness about the important role physical activity plays in the lives of young people. There will be tennis, golf, football, hockey, volleyball, baseball, rock climbing, interactive fitness equipment, trampoline jumping, dance, gymnastics, martial arts, fencing, stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking, as well demonstrations at the skate park. Truth in the corner of your eye

Now, I don't credit fortune cookies with any more power to predict the future than I do horoscopes.
