Jolene Rebecca Tanner, a student of the University of California, Santa Barbara, achieved excellence in her academic work during the fall quarter 2007, and has been selected for the Dean's Honors List.
More than 1,300 students were placed on the fall 2007 Dean's List at Michigan Technological University, earning grade point averages of 3.5 or higher. Dr. Les Cook, vice president for student affairs, reports that 285 students earned straight A averages of 4.0, with 1,066 attaining GPAs from 3.50 to 3.99. Bryan D. Steinhoff of Valencia, a senior studying mechanical engineering, was in the 4.0 group.
Erik Bleitz, 2001 graduate of Canyon High School, recently received his master's degree in dispute resolution from Pepperdine University. Erik attended San Diego State University and CSUN to receive his BA in politics and government in 2005. He then received an MBA from Pepperdine in April 2007, followed by the MDR in November 2007. He is currently residing in Beijing, China, where he is taking Chinese language classes at the Tsin Ghua University (the MIT of China) and working part time for the Beijing Arbitration Commission in international development.
