Officers installed, volunteers celebrated
The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center Foundation recently installed Myles McNamara for his second year as foundation president. Jill Bondy was installed as president-elect and will be taking over the presidency in 2013. Almost every day of the week, Cecil Bernstein, 85, volunteers at the membership desk at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center. It's where she signs fellow seniors up for the lunch program, coordinates with the cashiers and totals the volunteer time sheets.

The dual birthday celebration at Valencia Glen Park on Dec. 27 for Ed Jace, 90, and Thor Jorgensen, 88, was quite a racket.
