Auction raises funds for Boys & Girls Club
More than 1,000 hopefuls stepped up to the plate last Saturday night at the Mann Biomedical Park as the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Foundation hosted its 37th annual Benefit Auction.
Golfing for kids
While local realtors played a round of golf to benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, the Michael Hoefflin Foundation hosted its own charity golf tournament Monday at The Players Club in Valencia to benefit pediatric cancer. The 9th Annual Golf Classic and Auction, a favorite among local golfers, included several competitions, including the longest drive, closest to the pin and a putting contest.
Chip shot for home-delivered meals
The Southland Regional Association of Realtors, Santa Clarita Valley Division and the American Golf Association hosted a golf tournament earlier this week to prevent a local senior citizen foundation from retiring its meal delivery program. The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center, located in Newhall, prides itself on delivering meals to homebound seniors who rely upon the center's Home-Delivered Meals program to receive possibly the only hot meal they will eat all day.
Flemings open their home for silent auction preview
Last Thursday evening, Don and Cheri Fleming once again opened their beautiful and party-friendly Westridge home for a good cause. And though it might have been a little hard to feel it, what with the Lakers playing the Spurs on the wide screen televisions, the theme of the evening was "A Night on the Diamond" - as in a baseball diamond.
