Food Pantry turkey giveaway attracts large turnout

Nearly 300 families lined the sidewalk outside the Railroad Avenue location of the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry along 4th Street and down Main Street as members of the Santa Clarita Rotary Club began to unload and distribute more than 250 turkeys the group donated to the Pantry for its annual turkey giveaway.

Home Tour benefits Henry Mayo NICU

The 10,000-square-foot, 24-room Sand Canyon estate home of Wayne and Dianne Crawford was transformed into a holiday wonderland during the 28th Annual Henry Mayo Holiday Home Tour Gala held Dec. 5. Daughter-in-law Jeanna Crawford decorated the home with vintage and handmade holiday decor that gave the impressive home a cozy, personal feel, which was enjoyed by the 120 guests who paid $150 per person to support the Home Tour League. Funds from the event benefit women's services at Henry Mayo, including a new neonatal intensive-care unit.

Golden Goose lands at airport

It was an elegantly clad flock of "geese" that took flight Friday at the Agua Dulce Airport to celebrate the fourth annual Golden Goose Gala. Nearly 250 black-tie and formal-gown-attired guests paid $300 per person to enjoy an evening that included fine wine tasting, a gourmet dinner and dancing.

Free screening of 'Stalking Santa' in Newhall

The fourth annual Santa Clarita Valley Film Festival will host an encore presentation of "Stalking Santa," the 2007 festival's winner of "Best Film" and "Best Screenplay," just in time for the holidays. The complimentary screening will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Repertory East Playhouse, 24266 Main Street, Newhall and will include a meet and greet with writer and costar Daryn Tufts. Seating for "Stalking Santa" is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Inaugural art and wine gala is elegant event

It was an evening to celebrate the arts - and friends of the arts packed the Tournament Players Club to experience the artistic value of food, wine and fine art. Nearly 150 supporters of the arts in the Santa Clarita Valley attended the inaugural TPC/West Ranch art and wine gala held Sept. 20 to benefit the Joe Ranft Alumni Scholarship Fund at California Institute of the Arts.
