Silver Rose debutantes honor mothers

Dressed in their Sunday best, with tissues at the ready, seven mothers were honored by their Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Guild Silver Rose Debutante daughters during the 23rd Annual Mother Daughter Tea. Presentations ranged from original songs and poems to scrapbooks and gifts, all selected by the debutantes in appreciation of their mother's influence in their lives.

La Mesa students experience freedom of slopes

Ten students from La Mesa Junior High in Canyon Country recently participated in the fourth annual ski trip to Big Bear Mountain Ski Resort. The students were taught to ski by volunteers from the United States Adaptive Recreation Center.
