Newhall church throws its 117th birthday bash
On June 1 members of First Presbyterian Church, Newhall, flooded Hart Hall with kids and adults, eating, singing, praying and playing. Pastor Bill Barnes estimated that more than 240 family members celebrated the church's 117th birthday.

Stan Fix leaving SCUMC for Friendly Valley
You can't spell "fixture" without "fix" and that's what Santa Clarita United Methodist Church will be losing when Pastor Stan Fix leaves the church on Sunday. The pastor will replace the Rev. Leon Strand of Friendly Valley Community Church, who is retiring after 11 years.

A 150-year-old Torah has found a new home at Congregation Beth Shalom thanks to a donation from members Marianne and David Simon. The gift was donated in honor of Marianne's parents, Leonard and Nancy Marcus.
