Watch out for falling ash

I think I know how they felt at Pompeii. Just Wednesday afternoon, as I came out of our air conditioned offices, I was met by threatening brown-gray skies, oppressive heat, and air you could hardly breathe for the smoke. And there was a fine snow of ash falling, collecting in the nooks and crannies of my truck.

My dad built a study desk in my bedroom for me when I was about 10. I'm sure he was quite proud, but he basically built it in the closet.
