Hart cheerleaders collect cell phones for soldiers
The cheerleaders of William S. Hart High School recently proved again why they are winners on and off the field. The cheer squad, which is made up of varsity, junior varsity and freshmen cheer leaders, recently completed a four month Cell Phones for Soldiers drive.

Portraying the young version of an evil genius is all in a day's work for 13-year-old Sterling Beaumon. The Canyon Country resident has been acting, singing, dancing, and skating his way into stardom since scoring a Hollywood agent at 3 with a rousing rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner."

Blood drive commemorates St. Francis Dam disaster
On March 12, it will be 81 years since the collapse of the St. Francis Dam allowed hundreds of thousands of gallons of water to wash down San Francisquito Canyon in the Santa Clarita Valley killing hundreds of people and scores of livestock as well as destroying homes and property in a path that ran along the Santa Clara riverbed to the Pacific Ocean in Ventura.

James Park, son of Eileen Park, of Valencia, was recently promoted to Corporal, United States Marine Corps. He is stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Park and his platoon were deployed to Iraq in early February. He is a Bowman graduate.
