Silver Rose Debutantes take their first bow
A gurgling fountain and spectacular garden blooms exquisitely accented the aura of anticipation and excitement at the Debutante Presentation Tea on Sept. 27. The Henry Mayo Hospital Guild officially launched the 2008-09 Silver Rose Debutante Program with its "first social event of the year" at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Linn in Newhall.
Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair breaks adoption record
The eighth annual Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair in Newhall's Hart Park adopted out 111 Los Angeles County shelter animals on Oct. 12, a record for the non-profit organization.

'Bond-ing' for Canyon Theatre Guild
It was a warm night in the Octopussy Lounge in Newhall as guests arrived "by invitation of Her Majesty's Secret Service" for "Casino Royale 008." The fundraising evening to benefit the Canyon Theatre Guild offered "mystery, adventure and intrigue" as guests dressed as their favorite characters from the "James Bond" series.

It seems like spring in the Santa Clarita Valley! The calendar officially still says winter, but this past week has been very "spring-like." There was some awesome kite-flying weather with the sunshine and the wind (a little too much wind on some days!) and it was easy to ditch the heavy jackets in favor of short sleeves and shorts.

Sweetheart Gala benefits hospital
Love was in the air Feb. 9 in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Valencia as nearly 200 guests gathered to raise funds for cardiac care services at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia.
