An exercise bicycle, a kitchen table, a big-screen television set, a used wedding dress - are all items you might find for free while browsing through Santa Clarita Freecycle's Yahoo Group on the Internet. The Child & Family Center is "Going Green Fore the Kids" at its 10th annual Golf Invitational on Monday, July 14 at the Tournament Players Club Valencia, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Going Green is a topic of particular health concern to children, and the Child & Family Center has chosen to encourage the community to hear the environmental message and follow it in honor of the more than 600 children assisted by the center each week.

SCV Scene: Spring has sprung in the SCV
It seems that spring has sprung! I've enjoyed watching the trees and flowers bloom throughout the Santa Clarita Valley in recent weeks. The hills are even green. I know it won't last, but it is lovely for the moment. I am looking forward to the yuccas that bloom in May, my favorite time of year.
Rock, Walk & Wag
Galpin Subaru is the title sponsor of Rock, Walk & Wag, which will be held along Central Park's Perimeter Trail on Saturday, April 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free, fun, family festival will educate the public about the importance of spaying/neutering and raise funds to help keep this life-saving surgery widely available at a reduced rate for the public throughout Southern and Central California.
