An exercise bicycle, a kitchen table, a big-screen television set, a used wedding dress - are all items you might find for free while browsing through Santa Clarita Freecycle's Yahoo Group on the Internet. Or, at least they are all items that have been posted on the online forum and e-mail list that turns one person's garage clutter into another person's dollar saved.

Going Green Fore the Kids

The Child & Family Center is "Going Green Fore the Kids" at its 10th annual Golf Invitational on Monday, July 14 at the Tournament Players Club Valencia, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Going Green is a topic of particular health concern to children, and the Child & Family Center has chosen to encourage the community to hear the environmental message and follow it in honor of the more than 600 children assisted by the center each week.

A chance to sing with the Master Chorale

Although the last notes of the Santa Clarita Master Chorale's 2007-2008 season have been sung, the effects of its chords may resonate for years through its high school and college intern program. This season marks the eighth year that the Chorale has offered local high school seniors the opportunity to sing with the group for an entire season. Since 2000, 34 teenagers from many of the Santa Clarita Valley's secondary schools - Valencia, Canyon, Saugus and West Ranch - have performed with the vocal ensemble.
