Historical Society hosts radio broadcasting talk

The SCV Historical Society will host the event, "History of Radio Broadcasting," with Carl Goldman, co-owner of the radio station KHTS-AM 1220, at 2 p.m. on Feb. 27 at the Saugus Train Station in Heritage Junction at William S. Hart Park, 24101 Newhall Avenue. The event was originally scheduled for Jan. 30. The general public is welcome and the event is free.

Firm to pay $1.3 million for oil spill

Pacific Pipeline Systems LLP, a Long Beach-based oil transport company whose pipeline spilled thousands of gallons of oil into Pyramid Lake, has agreed to pay $1.3 million and quit using a part of its pipeline through an unstable part of the mountains, federal officials said Wednesday.

Postal Service to open 'Mega Passport Acceptance Office' in Santa Clarita

SANTA CLARITA - On May 31, 2014, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will open a new 2,000 square foot Mega Passport Office at the Castaic Branch Post Office, located at the Santa Clarita Processing and Distribution Center, 28201 Franklin Parkway in Santa Clarita.
