Santa Clarita unemployment rises to 4.7% Santa Clarita's unemployment rate for September hit 4.7 percent, the California Employment Development Department reported Friday. The figures show a labor force of 91,200 and an employment of 86,900, the state department reports. A total of 4,300 people are reported to be unemployed in the city.
