The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Orchestra received $1,500 from the office of L.A. County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, which will provide support for the orchestra's instrumentation education program aimed at students eight years and older.

Book fair to benefit local museum

Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital is asking for volunteers willing to donate blood during its Pie for a Pint blood drive from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
