Fourth of July flag etiquette

The American flag is a fixture of July Fourth, and there are a few points of etiquette that go along with its display:

n Parades - The flag should be in front of the marchers. At the moment the flag passes in a parade or procession, all persons should show respect by standing at attention facing the flag with their right hand over their hearts. Persons in uniform should face the flag and render their formal salute. During a parade it is appropriate to salute only the first United States Flag. SCV Sheriff's team saves suicidal man from jumping off cliff

On Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at approximately 10:05am deputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station received a call for service regarding a 42-year-old male who was possibly suicidal. A short time later, the man's vehicle was located (parked) at Sierra Highway and Newhall Avenue. Deputies had reason to believe the man was now traveling on foot headed into an off road / rural area to possibly commit suicide.
