Missing man found

A missing elderly Valencia man was found Saturday morning, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's press release. Los Angeles police officers found Tomas Guillermo Garcia, 79, in good health and he was returned to the care of a Santa Clarita senior living facility.

House passes health care bill

WASHINGTON (AP) - In a victory for President Barack Obama, the Democratic-controlled House narrowly passed landmark health care legislation Saturday night to expand coverage to tens of millions who lack it and place tough new restrictions on the insurance industry. Republican opposition was nearly unanimous.

The 220-215 vote cleared the way for the Senate to begin debate on the issue that has come to overshadow all others in Congress.

Driver killed after crashing into pole

A lone driver lost control of his vehicle just before 6 a.m. Saturday and collided with a power pole on Soledad Canyon Road between Gladding Way and Commuter Way, sheriff's officials said. County Fire officials pronounced him dead at the scene.
