MDA ‘lock-up’ set to raise funds

Santa Clarita business executives will "serve time" to raise money for children with muscular dystrophy this week. The Muscular Dystrophy Association will host a "lock-up" in a mock jail Thursday, during which volunteers will try to "raise bail" by calling friends and asking for donations for the local chapter. Traffic stop leads to "honey oil lab" discovery, arrest of 20-year-old

At approximately 6pm, on Saturday, May 24, 2014, deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station's Summer Violent Crime Enforcement Program (SVCEP) stopped a vehicle for routine traffic violations. Upon contacting the driver, deputies could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver was detained pending a narcotics investigation, and the vehicle was searched. Inside the vehicle's trunk, deputies found all the makings for a lab, used to extract hash oil (also known as honey oil) from marijuana.
