Suicide-by-train victim identified

The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office identified James Frances Simonet as the man who committed suicide by lying down on the railroad tracks in the path of an oncoming Metrolink train in rural Canyon Country March 31.

Saugus board member announces plans to resign

Saugus Union School District Board of Education Member Douglas (Doug) Bryce has announced that he will be resigning his position as a Board Member. Mr. Bryce has accepted a new job in the San Diego area and will be relocating to the San Diego area. In his new position, he will be working from home in Santa Clarita until he is able to sell his home in order to relocate to San Diego, at which point he will submit his official resignation from his Board of Trustees position.
